CHAUNCEY B. SEATON
Prominent Spokane Architect Has Passed Away.
Architect Chauncey B. Seaton died at 5:30 a.m. today at his home at 1617 Third avenue. The death was quite a surprise to his many friends in the city, many of whom did not know he was sick. The cause of the death could not be learned definitely, but it is said to have been due to troubles of the kidneys. He had been sick about ten days.
Mr. Seaton was forty-eight years of age. He was born in Crawford county, Ohio. He has been an architect all his life; first at Seima, Ala., later at Chicago, then at St. Paul and since about six months before the fire in this city. He designed the old exposition building and the Review building soon after coming to Spokane. Since then he has been the architect for many small building and a large number of residences as well as the Cheney normal school. He has been for years one of the best known architect of the city. He leaves a wife but no children.
Funeral arrangements have not been made. He may be buried in Spokane or the body may be shipped east. He leaves but little property. It is said his poor health for years has prevented his carrying any life insurances.
