From her official press biography:
Chaz Hammel-Smith Ebert is the vice president of The Ebert Company. Previously, as a civil rights attorney, she was named Lawyer of the Year by the Constitutional Rights Foundation and was selected as one of the Outstanding Young Women in America. Her civic and community passions include an interest in programs for children and families, with an emphasis on education and the arts, and in pathways to break the glass ceiling for women.
She has a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin and a law degree from DePaul University. She is a former litigator with the EPA, the EEOC, and the law firm of Bell, Boyd & Lloyd.
Ebert currently serves on the board of directors of After School Matters and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation. She is also on the honorary board for Family Focus.
Roger Ebert wrote a lengthy essay about his wife and their relationship, entitled simply "Roger Loves Chaz." It is worth reading: http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2012/07/roger_loves_chaz.html
