Chief of the Simpcw First Nation: The people of the North Thompson
Chief André is the son of Tseyenetssa (Peter Tenmesqet or Tseynitse7), and his wife, Kwilretkwa (Qwilcetkwe). He is said to have been born in 1832 and he was baptised on 25 August 1867, at the Church of St. John the Baptist. It should be noted that while records list the location as Kamloops, the Church of St. John the Baptist is in Chu Chua (Kamloops District).
