Funeral services for W. E. (Slivers) Lauderdale, who died Saturday at Hensley Nursing Home following an extended illness, will be held Tuesday, November 7, at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Woolard and Rev. Alvin Hedin officiating.

Born June 14, 1899 at Mangum, Mr. Lauderdale married Chrissie DeShane at Elk City April 29, 1919 who preceded him in death. He had resided in Sayre and other points in Oklahoma and Texas. He retired as camp maintenance manager from Ashland Oil Co., Satanta, Kansas, formerly United Carbon Company, in 1963 and returned to Sayre. He was with the Carbon Co. since September 28, 1937. He served in WW 1in the Coast Artillery. He was a member of the American Legion and First Baptist Church. He was married to Rachel Hagar October 8, 1966 at Sayre.

Survivors are his wife, Rachel, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Margie Pokorny, Lawton; Mrs. Lois Wood, Ft. Worth,Texas; one step daughter, Mrs. Pat Gibson, Sayre; five grand-daughters; two great-grandsons; five brothers, Ralph of Kansas City, Kansas, Harry of San Jose, CA, Fay and Lawrence both of Los Angeles, CA, Floyd of San Bernandino, CA; Three sisters, Mrs. Ada Gilmore, Eugene, OR, Mrs. Eda Kysar, Hawthorne, CA, Mrs.Lucy Andrews, San Bernandino, CA.

Interment will be in the Sayre/Doxey Cemetery with Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
