Christiaan Frederik MATTHEE, van Potsdam, Duitsland, was in 1754 soldaat en passasier op die Eendragt wat in Tafelbaai geland het. In 1757 het hy in die huwelik getree met Elsie Sophia BRAND. Hulle agt kinders was:

• (1) Christiaan Frederik (1758).
• (2) Christina (1759), getroud 10.10.1777 met Johan Engelhard KIRCHOFF, van Denzlingen; hertroud met Johannes ROGIERS.
• (3) Carel Frederik Ferdinand (1761).
• (4) Johan Frederik Willem (1763).
• (5) Maria Dorothea (1765), getroud met Johan Philip LINGEVELDER.
• (6)Christiaan Frederik (1768).
• (7) Johan Frederik Willem (1769).
• (8) Maria Dorothea (1774).

Twee jaar na sy huwelik het Matthee burger geword.
