About Christian Matthias Fliegenring

- Kilde Arkivverket/Forum, Norge.

UK: Matthias Christian Fliegenring ended up being insane and killing his own, beloved daughter in November 1728. He died in the town hall prison before he could be put to Munkholmen (small island) to serve lifetime imprisonment. Matthias had scurvy and was sure to die from this decease (probably this was the actual cause of death).

UK: The house of the former executioner had been vacant when the old executioner died in 1720. The Magistrate contacted Denmark to get at real executioner, a profession which had developed in the German culture. They succeeded in getting the executioner in Elsinore, Mathias Fliegenring. The old executioner house was not good enough for a real executioner. Instead they built an executioner house in 1720 in the suburb of Ilen, by the way according to one of the drawings for a citizen's house prepared by General Vibe after the city fire in 1681.
