Christian Benjamin (went by Benjamin) Pfaff was the fifth of nine known children of Peter Pfaff Jr. (1773-1865) and Anna Magdalena Conrad (1782-1863), who married 23 Mar 1802 in presumably North Carolina.

Benjamin first married to Maria (went by Polly) Magdalena Phillips (1808-1839) who married c1835 in presumably North Carolina. Benjamin and Polly were the parents of two known children, namely:

1. Lydia Lavinia Pfaff Snipes (1836-c1900/1910) 2. Emma Hortensia Pfaff Flint Harper (1838-1923)

After Polly died, Benjamin remarried to Minervia Magdalena Flynt (1817-1910) on 11 Jan 1844 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Benjamin and Minerva were the parents of four known children, namely:
