Christian Poos Of Lancaster Succumbs

Christian Poos, 86, for many years a resident of the Lancaster community, died at 4 a.m. Friday at Oskaloosa, where he had lived the past four years.

He was born at Meslinger, Germany, July 15, 1867, and came to America when a young man, settling near Lancaster.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Marie Andre, Oskaloosa; Mrs. Lillian Lamme, Shingle, Calif.; Mrs. Bertha Schnoebelen, Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Hulda Osborn, Lincoln, Neb.: a son, William Poos, Welda, Kas.; three brothers, Will Poos, Lancaster; Fred Poos, Effingham, and Herman Poos, Halstead; and a sister, Miss Elsie Poos, Minden, Germany. He was a brother of Dr. H. C. Poos of Lancaster, who died last October.
