Critical Commentary

(1) Christian Paton was born of 15 April 1712 and not 16 April 1712. This last date was the date upon which her baptism was registered at Newlands in Peeblesshire, Scotland. (2) Christian Paton died on 1 June 1792. She did nor die at Edinburgh in Midlothian. She died at Eddleston in Peeblesshire, and was buried in the churchyard there on 4 June 1792.
