Christian Jonassen Vatne

Christian Jonasen Vatne bought in 1835 the farm Torp and moved there. His parents were Jonas Halvorsen Vatne of Vestre Moland and Kirstine Aanonsdatter Tjore; Christian and his mother had strong ties to Landvik. In 1836 he married his cousin (the niece of his mother) Maren Kristine Aanonsdatter Tjore. Her parents were Aanon Aanonsen Tjore and Helene Christoffersdatter . Christian Jonasen added Torp to his name after they moved to the farm. Christian Torp Jonasen was selected into the municipal council in 1850 and came into the presidency and sat there for two terms. Maren Kristine died in 1850 and he married Gunhild Johanne Knudsdatter Midstue, daughter of Knud Olsen Midstue and Ane Jonsdatter Nærbø, in1854. With his first wife he had 4 children, with Gunhild 5.
