Christine Kopp

Christine Kopp, 81, Mandan, died April 21, 2013 at Missouri Slope Care Center in Bismarck. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota.

Christine was born April 23, 1931 to Mike & Verna (Ternes) Kopp in Raleigh, North Dakota.

She was raised and educated in the Raleigh/Shields area. Christine married Victor Kopp on June 1, 1949 in Raleigh. After a short time on the family farm, the couple moved to Mandan. Christine was a wonderful cook and worked at the Red Fox and Dakota Farms restaurants where she baked her famous caramel rolls. She went to work at Wal-Mart when they opened in Bismarck and worked there until her retirement. Friendly and outgoing, Christine lived an active life. She loved going out on Saturday nights with her husband and friends to dance at local clubs and also entertain friends at her home playing cards, visiting and laughing.

She was very active in the St. Joseph parish as a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Ladies Circle. She was also very proud to become a Eucharistic Minister. She was very proud of her family and enjoyed going to all activities her kids and grandkids were involved in. She was a great cheerleader for all of them. After her retirement she volunteered at Aide Inc. and loved to help wherever she was needed.

Christine will be fondly remembered by daughters, Karen Rahrich and Louise Kopp (Greg Lorenz), both of Bismarck; Mariann (Vern) Herman, Mandan; sons, Cal (Fay) and Victor (Peggy), both of Bismarck; David (Tracy), Kansas City, KS; Robert (Jackie), Ely, NV; daughter-in-law, Nancy Kopp, Ft. Wayne, IN; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Wolfe, Doris (Nick) Hersch and Marlene (David) Helbling, all of Mandan; Louise (Phillip) Roll, Las Vegas, NV; Mary Lou (Jim) Hilzendeger, Napoleon, ND; brothers, Sammy (Betty), Spearfish, SD; Billy (Judy), Bismarck; Roger, Denver, CO; brother-in-law, John Bachmeier, Bismarck.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; son, Mike; sister, Florence and brother-in-law John Wolfe.
