Son of Christopher & Ann (Garrettson) Hussey. The Last Will & Testament of Christopher Hussey was written Jan 8, 1812, Docket C & D, pg 60 & 61, Greene Co, OH Probate. Executors were Nathan & Stephen Hussey. His heirs: Wife: Mary Hussey; Daughters: Ann Canaday, Elizabeth Stewart, Mary Mathews, Rebecca Mickle, Jane Hussey; Sons: Elijah, Nathan, Stephen; Walter Canaday (husband to daughter Ann). John Mickle (husband to daughter Rebecca). Robert Stewart of VA was to pay $75 back into the estate when his executors and widow saw fit. He wanted his wife, Mary, to bequeath and divide from the remaining estate to their youngest children, Christopher, Jacob, Sarah & Sophia. Daughter Jane Hussey, mar'd 1813 Greene Co, OH to George Price. Son Christopher, 1st mar'd 1820 Greene Co, OH to Margaret Haughey; 2nd mar'd 1838 Greene Co, OH to Catharine Lockhart. Son Jacob mar'd 1814 to Sarah Copeland. Daughter Sarah mar'd 1816 to Seth Wilson. Daughter Sophia mar'd 1817 Greene Co, OH to Benjamin Vanniman. A history of Jefferson twp, Greene Co, OH states Christopher Hussey was the first settler in this township and lived in the vicinity of what is now known as Bowersville. The family erected a rude log hut, circular in form and resided there for several years while clearing the heavily timbered lands. Inscription: Illegible stone with footstone C.H. Family records show this to be burial site for Christopher Hussey, 1750-1812.
