About Claire B. Curtin

Claire B. CiCi (Butler) Curtin, passed away peacefully at her home, Jan. 30, 2010, at the age of 85. Claire was a lifelong resident of Brockton, loving wife of the late Joseph Curtin Jr. and daughter of the late William J. and Margaret C. Butler. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Edward Church/St. Edith Stein Parish and retired from the City of Brockton in 1991 as a DPW Administrative Assistant. CiCi had an active retirement where she traveled to many states and throughout Europe. She also worked at the practice of her son at the Abington Animal Hospital. She remained devoted to her family until the end and will be greatly missed. CiCi was the loving mother of Joseph Curtin III, Elaine A Czaja and her husband Frank of Brockton, Dr. John L. Jack and his wife Dr. Lauren Curtin of East Bridgewater, Michael P. and his wife Ruth A. Curtin of Brockton and James W. and his wife Ellen C. Curtin of Bridgewater. She also leaves 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a brother, Robert A. Butler of Brockton and a sister, Marie Belcher of Covina, Calif. She was the sister of the late Daniel, John F. Buddy, Jeremiah J. Chappy, Nora K. Tarentino, Ernest E. and William Joe Butler Jr. Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Wednesday, at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish at 9 a.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368 or the charity of ones choice.
