Clara (Carducci) Babbini, 98, of Solvay, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre. She was born in Chisolm, MN to the late Romeo and Irene (Renzaglia) Carducci in 1916. Clara worked many years at GE followed by many years at Solvay Elementary School in the Cafeteria before retiring in 1978. She was a longtime communicant of St. Cecilia's Church. Clara was predeceased by her husband Italo in 1975, son Victor in 2012, son-in-law Tony Oriend and brothers, Clerio, Rudy, Alfred and Romeo. Clara's family wishes to thank the 2 North staff of James Square for their compassion and care. She is survived by her daughter, Rena Oriend, of Solvay, grandson, Mark (Laurie) Oriend, of Syracuse, great-granddaughter, Mary Oriend, of Solvay, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am Tuesday, January 13, 2015 in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay. Entombment will follow in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 pm Monday, January 12, 2015 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
