Clarence Lee, age 75 of Lake Metigoshe, died Friday at a Bismarck hospital. Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau, North Dakota.
He was born June 8, 1937 in Westhope, North Dakota to Melvin and Josephine (Matthews) Lee.
He was raised in the Westhope area until the family moved to Bottineau when he was in 6th grade. He graduated from Bottineau High School in 1956. Over the next few years he attended Bottineau School of Forestry and Minot State College and worked at Pride Dairy and Frykman Motor.
On May 11th, 1962, he married Gail Pearson. They moved to Minot and he began a career in healthcare management that spanned nearly 40 years. They resided in Minot, Langdon, Hazen and Miller, SD. In 2001, he retired and they moved home to Lake Metigoshe. Thru the years and the communities, he was active in many civic organizations including Sons of Norway. He loved woodworking, hunting and his family and friends. He was a member of the Lake Metigoshe Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gail (Pearson) Lee; 2 daughters, Coreen (Doug) Murphy (CA) and Carleen (Mark) Lapinski (MN); grandchildren, Rachel (Ricky) Ghilarducci, Alicia Burchett, Brooke Lapinski and Jacob Lee Crumb; great grandchild Nicholas Ghilarducci; step grandchildren Darrin, Dawson and Kirsten Murphy; 2 sisters, Marlene (Oliver) Reing, Debby (Darrel) Stokes both of Bottineau; brother Kevin (Deberah) Lee, Eagle, ID; brother-in-law Virgil Soland, Dickinson and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wardell (Bud) Lee and Stacy Lee (age 2), and sisters Burdell Young and Roberta Soland.
