Clarence Allen Weaver

ORRVILLE -- Clarence A. Weaver, 81, of Orrville, went to be with Jesus on May 28, 2017, after a period of declining health.

He was born June 8, 1935 in Ashtabula, the son of Harley and Anna (Fisher) Weaver, and was united in marriage to Colleen A. Beery on June 28, 1958 in Marshallville. She preceded him in death on July 6, 2014.

Clarence served in the Ohio National Guard and Reserve from 1957-63, and had been employed as a maintenance mechanic for Packaging Corporation of America for 41 years, retiring in 1997.

He was a member and deacon of Orrville Baptist Church, and took care of the yard work at the church. Clarence enjoyed mowing, music, woodworking, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving are his daughters, Cindy (Daniel) Stevens of Orrville and Chris (Mark) Fickle of Smithville; grandchildren, Tabitha (Kenneth) Carman, Amanda Stevens, Aubrey Mowrer, Emily and Cody Fickle; great-grandchildren, Evan and Alli Carman; brothers, Bill Carr of Barberton and Jim (Carol) Carr of Clinton; and a sister, Cathy First of Walterboro, S.C.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Craig; grandsons, Andrew and Joshua Stevens; his parents; brothers, Lloyd and Eugene Weaver; and sisters, Janice Clark, Jeanette Rich and Marie Huth.

Services will be Saturday, June 3 at 11 a.m. at Orrville Baptist Church, 204 Bell Ave., Orrville, with pastor Brad Dews officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Orrville, with military honors provided by the 555th Honors Detachment of Wayne County.
