Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Community Church In Union for Clark Rowley, 86, who died Monday morning at the Eldora Community Hospital.
The Rev. Preston Hinderks officiated. Pallbearers were Neil Bittner, Leland Bittner, Eugene Bittner, Warren Cordle, John Cordle and Lee Cordle.
Burial was in the Miller Cemetery southwest of Union.
Mr. Rowley was born June 22, 1882 at Lincoln, Neb , the son of Clarence and Lillian Rowley. He came to Union with his parents at the age of five and had lived in that vicinity since that time. He was a painter and decorator by trade.
He married Carrie Hammer, who died in 1921. Later, he married Hattie Purcell of Winterset.
Surviving are two sons. Albert of Albion and Clarence of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Glenn Myers of Marshalltown; a step son, Austin McCollum of Madrid, a sister, Mrs. James Lord of Des Moines; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant daughter, two brothers and a sister.
