Mr. Clement E. Johnson, 98, of Lindsborg, went to be with his Lord at 2:52 p.m., Thursday, January 6th, 2011 while in the company of his son at Lindsborg Community Hospital, Lindsborg, Kansas.

Mr. Johnson was born in Rural McPherson, Kansas on September 15, 1912, the son of Charlie and Phebe (Berggren) Johnson.

Clement attended and graduated from West Kentuck School, graduated from McPherson High School, and attended McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas.

Clement was a member of New Gottland Covenant Church New Gottland, where he served as church Chairman for over 20 years and served his church in other capacities .

Clement was a Farmer and worked for 25 years for the U.S.D.A. Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, McPherson, Kansas.

Clement E. Johnson was united in marriage to Wilma Ruth Lambertson on January 4, 1948 at Ada, Kansas. Wilma died on March 5, 1982. Clement was then married to Aleda Kaiser on November 23, 1984 at New Gottland Covenant Church. Aleda died on November 2, 1996.

Surviving family members include his son, Armin E. Johnson and his wife Laurel of Lubbock, Texas; his four grandchildren, Christina "Tina" Peterson and her husband Ben of League City, Texas, Eric Johnson of Lubbock, Texas, Christopher Johnson of Wausau, Wisconsin, and Angela Anstead and her husband Justin of Richardson, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Thomas Peterson, Rebecca Peterson, Victoria Peterson, and Andrew Peterson; several nieces and nephews other relatives and a host of friends.

Clement was preceded in death by his parents; His wives, Wilma R. Lambertson and Aleda Kaiser; his brother, C. Elroy Johnson; and sisters, Zorada Bitikofer, and Rose-Ailene Malm.

Friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 9, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. with family present at New Gottland Covenant Church, New Gottland.

The funeral service will be held at New Gottland Covenant Church, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 10th, with Reverend Richard Skar officiating.

The final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
