Biography

Col John S Dyer, Judge Esq 1693 - 1779.

He was born in Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts, but went to Canterbury, Windham, Connecticut, with his brother Thomas. He sold out his holdings to his brother and went to Canterbury where he settled and left descendants. He married Abigail Fitch 1688 – 1759, October 22, 1713, by whom he had eight children. Subsequently he married Joanna Christophers 1706 – 1784 (Widow of Benajah Leffingwell 1678 – 1756 ). His children were all born to Abigail Fitch. He had no children with his second wife.
