Colonel John Veazey died of small pox - 16 years after his wife died of the same disease. This was also the first marriage between the Veazeys and the Wards of Cecil County.
Col John received an additional grant of land 11th Aug.1753.
In 1754 he was Deputy surveyor for Cecil County, MD. He represented Cecil County in the Convention of MD of 1774-76. On the 6th Jan. 1776, he was elected Colonel of the Bohemia Battalion.
According to "Old Kent", pg 177, his wife's name was Mary.

John immgrated to America from Essex County in England. In America he served as a Colonel in the Provincial Military Force and was later the Justice of the County Court (Cecil Co.) for 20 years.
