Jan 02, 1811 in Freehold; bur. in the Old Scot’s Burying Ground in Monmouth County with his wife; m. Jul 10, 1758 in Freehold, Elizabeth Clark; b. about 1727 in Freehold; bpt. at Old Tennant Church; d. Feb 26, 1803 age 65 in Freehold. She was the daughter of Alexander Clark; b. 1693 in Monmouth County; d. Aug 07, 1730 in Freehold; bur. Topenamus Burial Ground, Freehold, and Sarah Everts Van Gelder Hendrickson; b. Mar 1690 in Brooklyn, NY; d. after 1730 in Freehold. Cornelius was a farmer who owned much land in Monmouth and Gloucester Counties, in NJ. He served with two of his sons in the Monmouth County Militia during the Revolutionary War. In Jul 1784, Cornelius Pease was taxed in Deptford Township, Gloucester County for 400 acres of "unimproved land", which he paid the tax of 18 shillings and 5 d. His will (No. 8916H) was filed Jan 03, 1811 in lower Freehold Township, Monmouth County, NJ. To his son, William, Cornelius bequeathed one dollar, to his daughter Margaret (Peggy), he gave a heifer, to daughter Sarah, a tract of land in Middlesex County, and to daughter Elizabeth, a tract of land in Monmouth County.
