HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF STONINGTON, County of New London, Connecticut, from its first settlement in 1649 to 1900, by Richard Anson Wheeler, New London, CT, 1900, p. 373

Harris/Allyn: Buried beside his father in the Starr Burying Ground. On page 134 Abigail Perkins, widow of Luke Perkins, was listed on probate records as the administratrix for the estate of Luke Perkins, estate valued at 302 pounds. Land records indicate Luke had two other children, Caleb and Sally. There was another Luke Perkins at Fort Griswold, but he was not related to this family, the family says. Hale mentions a Luke Perkins, age 32, who died that day. Harris/Allyn, page 134, lists a Margaret Perkins, widow of Luke.

Perkins, who was left with one child and no estate. That must be this man, since the other Luke came from a wealthy family. [There also is a Luke Perkins of Middleborough, Mass., who married Margaret Pierce. After his death, his wife said, in effect, he had no redeeming features.]

Probate Packet: Widow Abigail appointed administrix of estate 4 Dec. 1781.

Nathan Darrow was paid 4 pounds 30 April 1783 in a claim against the estate.

Starr Cemetery Records:
