Victim of car accident identified
A man found Monday in a wrecked car pulled from the Blackfoot River has been identified as Patrick Loyd Lipscy, 19, of Seeley Lake.
Mr. Lipscy had been missing since May 12, according to the Montana Highway Patrol. The patrol said his car apparently hit a guardrail on Highway 200 and plunged into the river about 10 miles east of Bonner.
He was on leave from the Marine Corps at the time of the accident.
Mr. Lipscy was born Jan. 30, 1961, in Jackson Hole, Wyo., and he moved to Missoula with his family when he was 6 months old. He attended Roosevelt School and Hellgate High School and enlisted in the Marines in February 1978. His tour of duty had included a stay in Japan. He was due to report to a Marine base at the end of his leave.
Survivors include his parents, Henry and Willa Lipscy, Seely Lake, and two sisters, Kathleen Hirning, Tacoma Wash.; and Colleen Poirier, Kalispell. Two brothers preceded him in death, William in 1949, and Lewis in 1977. Other survivors include a grandmother, Mrs. George Friend, Ellensburg, Wash., and several nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be recited Friday at 7:30 p.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church with Father Robert JU. Beaulieu as celebrant. Cremation will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
