Curtis Graves (1938 -), Houston businessman and politician, was the first African American to serve in the State House since Texas Reconstruction. Graves served in the House 1966-1972. Graves graduated from Texas Southern University with a BBA in 1962. The collection consists of 5 boxes (1.5 linear feet) and is comprised of materials generated during Graves' tenure in the political arena from 1967-1971; there are no personal or family papers in this collection.
