Wedding
One of the prettiest weddings yet seen in Patea was celebrated at St. George's Church last Thursday, when Miss Violet Susie Honeyfield, fifth daughter of the late Mr. E. M. Honeyfield, was united to Mr. Cyril Langdon Dymock, manager of the Bank of New Zealand, Taihape. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Hermon in the presence of a large congregation. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. C. R. Honeyfield, wore a handsome Empire robe of white brussels lace over white chiffon taffeta with veil to match and wreath of orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet of chrysanthemums and other choice flowers of the season. The bridesmaids were Miss Mildred Honeyfield, sister of the bride, and Miss Sybil Dymock, sister of the bridegroom. The former was attired in a pretty dress of eau de nil voile with Paris net yoke and sleeves, and the latter a pretty pink Eolienne frock, with transparent yoke and directoire sash. They both wore stylish black hats trimmed with wings and chiffon, and each carried pretty shower bouquets. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Selwyn Dymock, as best man, and Mr. Albert Anderson acted as groomsman. As the happy couple passed down the aisle the wedding march was played by Mrs. E. C. Horner. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at "Egmont View," the residence of the bride's mother. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a valuable set of brown furs, and exquisite gold brooch, set with rubies and diamonds, and to the bridesmaids, very pretty pearl brooches. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a set of silver mounted brushes. The newly married couple left by the evening train for New Plymouth en route to Auckland and Sydney where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride travelled in a green cloth tailor-made costume and wore a very becomming green hat trimmed with tulle and wings. The presents were numerous and costly, including many cheques, a beautiful marble clock from the Masons of Taihape, and a handsome silver hot water kettle from the Bank staff.
