ALEX BIGLER DIES

Alex Bigler, 72 year old prominent Sigel resident passed away at 4:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, August 21st, 1934 at his home after an illness of about six weeks duration. The day following the burning of his hay barn in Sigel which was struck by lightning about six weeks ago Mr. Bigler suffered a paralytic stroke from which he never recovered.

Mr. Bigler, who was married to Elizabeth Tolch of this .city nearly forty-five years ago, was a prominent Sigel man, he having been connected with the Berchtold and Bigler General Store several years ago. After that he was president of the Peoples State Bank at Sigel but in re, cent years he devoted his time to the, buying of hay.

He is survived by his wife and five children who are as follows: Harry Bigler of Chicago; Walter Bigler of Beloit, Wisconsin; Mrs. X. (Clara) Doherty and Mrs Carl (Mable) Snyder of Neoga, Ill., and Victor Bigler of Chicago. Six grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at Sigel, followed by burial in the Sigel cemetery.

Mr. Bigler is quite well known by Teutopolis citizens he being a brother-in-law of Mr. and Mrs George Eckjan and Mr and Mrs L. A. Fuelle of this city and having visited with them quite frequently.
