About Cyrus Granger Gilbreath
Sometime between 1822 and 1826 Cyrus Granger Gilbreath moved to Arkansas from Illinois with the rest of his family. In 1828 he married Sarah Craig, the daughter of John B. Craig of Kentucky. By 1829 he was living in White Oak, in Independence County Arkansas, which later was split into several counties. From 1844-1845, 1847-1851, and 1859-1862, he was Associate Justice for Washington County. When Sarah died in 1848, Cyrus was left with 9 children to care for. In1851 he married Cynthia Bloyed (Wolf), the widow of William Bloyed. (She may have been the mother of Eli and James who both married Sarah Jane.)
