Daniel first arrived in York in 1695. He resided circa 1696 on Puddington lot in Lower Town (Deeds iv, 114), and he had other lots and grants on Alcock's Neck and on the south side. He was was a weaver by trade. Daniel Jr., probably first came to York, Maine while serving in the military. In 1696 he was a sergeant (Deed v, pt. ii, 70). He was convicted of selling liquor without a licence in 1699. He was selectman 1699 and 1700, besides holding several minor offices as moderator, 1703. He was a tavern keeper between 1700 and 1708.
