Notes
Note H00326Daniel's mother died when he was only 2. His father remarried Lydia Finney, aunt of his future wife.
After many years in NH it is suspected that Daniel worked on the Erie Canal reaching Jefferson County by 1842. Three of his sons were already living there as well as other Britton relatives. He and Sally spent their later years at St. Lawrence near Cape Vincent, where Sally died in 1862. Daniel died 10 years later in Gananoque at the home of their son. He was 99 years old.
