Daniel Edgar "Dan" Bland

MEMORIAL:

Daniel Edgar Bland was born on November 28, 1894 in Bulloch County, Georgia, son of Michael Bland and Ann Rigdon.

On November 28, 1916, he married Amelia O'Neal. Also, in 1916, he graduated from Georgia Southern College. In 1983 after 67 years of marriage, his wife, Amelia, preceded him in death.

Footnote: 1987 comments of niece, Willie Lee Moseley, "Dan and his wife (Amelia) remained close and interested in the college (Georgia Southern) and donated his home and several acres of land to it when he died. Dan's property was lush with trees and shrubs he had nourished and with small game and birds. He left the land to the College in order to provide a botanical haven for others, especially students of the College who love and appreciate nature."
