Daniel O'Nail-Will Book 3:180 - Oct 1856
In the name of God, Amen - I Daniel O'Nail being weak and feeble in bodily health but sound in mind and memory do make and ordain this my last Will and testament, hereby revoking all others. First, it is my will that all my just debts with funeral expenses at my decease shall be fully paid without unnecessary delay. Item - I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, nancy O'Nail, the one third part of my real estate during her natural life. Also, one fourth part of all the hay made on the farm to be delivered in the barn with the necessary privilege of stabling, feeding and C (perhaps cleaning). Also, one cow and six sheep - her choice of those in my possession. Also all the wheat and rye now in my possession to my said wife and to my daughter, Nancy, for the use of the family. I likewise give to my said wife the ground story of my dwelling house and one room upstairs, reserving the kitchen and two rooms upstairs reserved for the farmer or tenant who may farm the place. I likewise give to my said wife all the household property and furniture that I possess. Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter, Sarah Jane and Nancy, each one hundred dollars. Item - It is my will that all my personal property not otherwise dispersed of shall be sold at public venue to the best advantage as soon as convenient after my decease. Item - to my daughter, Mary, I bequeath five dollars. Item - All the residue of my effects I give and bequeath equal shares to my sons, John and James and my daughter, Elizabeth, Sarah, Jane and Nancy including both real and personal estate. After my debts are all paid off, whatever lose property or furniture may happen to remain undisposed of now in my possession, I bequeath to my said wife and I hereby appoint my neighbor, Peter Pryer and my son-in-law George Gardner , executors of this my last Will and Testament. In wellness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.
