Darius was preceded in death his first wife, Martha Mitchell, a daughter, Virginia and brother, Gervaise Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Jewel Mitchell, son, Frank and wife Connie Mitchell; daughters, Laura and husband Art Evans and Mary Davis; three grandsons, two grandaughters and four great-grandchildren; sisters Joyce Auxer Dellinger and Wilma Uzup.
