LAWTELL - Funeral services for Mr. Darmas Daigle, 83, were held at 10 a.m. today in St. Bridget Catholic Church here with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Daniel R. Picard conducted the services. Mr. Daigle died at 12:40 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2000, in the Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana in Lafayette.
He was a retired farmer and 17-and-a-half-year employee with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
Survivors include:his wife, Gladys Thibodeaux Daigle of Lawtell; a son, Gene I. Daigle, and his wife Betty, of Church Point; a daughter, Mary Grace Fontenot, and her husband Ronald, of Lawtell; a sister, Pauline Smith of Greenwell Springs; two brothers, Lemmie Daigle of Church Point and Woodrow Daigle of Scott; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Daigle was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Angela Bourgeois Daigle; and two children,Joycelyn Ann and Aldon Daigle.
Visiting hours were observed from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. today until time of services in Lafond-Ardoin
Funeral Home on the old Sunset Highway, which was in charge of arrangements.
