He was born Nov. 20, 1934, to Clarence and Evelyn Soholt, in Wildrose. He married Lillian Zelmar on Oct. 8, 1955, in Williston. He was drafted into the Army in 1959 and was discharged in 1962.

Survivors: wife; sons, Mark, Alamo, Marlyn, Crosby; brother, Larry, Yuma, Ariz.; sister, Carol Filipovic, Phoenix.

Funeral: Saturday, 11 a.m., Calvary Lutheran Church, Alamo.

Burial: Corinth Cemetery, Corinth.

Family service open to the public: Today, 5 p.m., in Fulkerson Funeral Home, Williston.

Visitation: Today, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the funeral home, and Saturday, one hour prior to the service, in the church.

Darryl Soholt, 75, rural Alamo, died on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at his residence.

His funeral service is at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at the Calvary Lutheran Church, Alamo. Pastoral Assistant James Hamann is officiating. Interment is at the Corinth Cemetery. A family service open to the public is at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at the Fulkerson Funeral Home Chapel, Williston. Darryl Victor Soholt was born on Nov. 20, 1934, to Clarence and Evelyn (Harder) Soholt in Wildrose. He was the grandson of Knut and Lena Soholt. He was raised near Corinth and attended Rainbow Valley School.

He helped on the family farm throughout his childhood.

On Oct. 8, 1955, Darryl was united in marriage to Lillian Zelmar at Williston. The couple farmed in the Corinth/Alamo area. He also worked for the City of Williston for a time. Darryl was drafted into the Army in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1962.

After he returned home from the service, Darryl took over his grandmother’s farm in Rainbow Township, southeast of Alamo. He farmed and raised cattle until 2008 when he retired. Darryl and Lillian continued to live on the farm.

Darryl was a member of the Rainbow Township Board. He enjoyed hunting and trapping in his early years. He also enjoyed playing guitar and singing, especially at jam sessions with relatives at his house.

Darryl is survived by his wife, Lillian, Alamo; sons, Mark Soholt Alamo, ND and Marlyn Soholt, Crosby; brother, Larry Soholt, Yuma, Ariz.; and sister, Carol (Don) Filipovic, Phoenix, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gloria Cornell; and sister-in-law Pat Soholt.
