About David Gardiner
David was appointed Deputy Assistant Commissary General (later promoted) to the British Forces in Canada in 1811, he established a branch of the Gardiner family there, and the diary contain references to them. A bust of General Robert May Gardiner was done by his son-in-law, William Henry Totterdell Venner.
