David John Roegge*

David John Roegge, 68, of Arzenville, illinois died January 21, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois. He was born March 7, 1946 in Beardstown, Illinois. He married Judy Messerschmidt on June 23, 1973 in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She survives.

David farmed with his brother Charles in Arzenville for many years until his retirement in 2008. He remained active on the farm helping his sons. In addiion, David worked as custodian of the Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Arenzville for over 20 years. he served in he United States Army as a combat engineer during the Vietnam War.

He loved following local sports including youth baseball games in Arenzville and all of the Triopia teams. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors with his brother. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Besides his wife Judy he is survived by four sons; Aaron (Nicole) Roegge, Matt (Jill) Roegge, Philip Roegge all of Arenzville and Michael Roegge of Chicago. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Lydia, Isaac, Charlie, Ali, and Hunter. He was known as "Grandpa Popsicle" among his grandkids.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School or Arenzville Fire and Rescue.
