David Leo Leeman

David Leo Leeman of Noblesville, Indiana passed away Sunday, December 23, 2007. He was 72.

Born August 5, 1935 in Elwood, Indiana, he was the son of Henry Edgar Leeman and Opal Arabella McPhearson.

David was self-employed in construction, remodeling, top soil and farming since 1959. Mr. Leeman was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Elwood since 1948 and a Bishop since 1967.

He graduated salutatorian from Walnut Grove in 1953 where he played basketball and was named on the All-County team. He also played on the U.S. Army basketball team while in the service and the team won the first place award in the European Championship, Germany 1955-1956.

Survivors include his children, Pamela Sue Bays of Noblesville, Gary D. Leeman of Arcadia, Mary Ann McMullen of Noblesville, Andrew B. Leeman of Strawtown, and Opal E. Bartzis of Noblesville; five brothers; three sisters; seven grandchildren, Rusty, Calvin, Clinton, Spencer, and Ian Bays, Sylvia Leeman, and Melina Bartzis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail N. (Bachmann) Leeman, in 2005; son, Raymond Henry Leeman; four grandchildren; four sisters, two brothers; and step-mother, Ocie Jacobs Leeman.

Funeral services were Thursday, December 27th at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home with Elder John H. Bays officiating.

Burial in Aroma Cemetery, Aroma, Indiana.
