In the deed of mortification to the church of Glamis by John, 3rd Lord dated 20th October 1492, noted David is designed by the granter , "Rector of Forbas, my son ..."[1]
David Lyon had a grant oft the hospital of Balgowny Esse ,24 September 1499 ,1 which two years afterward she resigned in favour of his younger brother William , who in turn resigned them in favour of his nephew John , David's eldest son, 1august 1512.
David Lyone is the nearest agnate ,that is ,kinsman to John Lyone ,brother and heir of the deceased George Lyone ,lord of Glammys, on his great grandfather's side.
John, Earl of Crawford and lord Lindesay, sells to David Lyoun of Kinnell ,his lands and barony of Kynblathmont ,viz.,the lands of Gilchorn, Lawtoun, the tenandries of Hantirstoun,Kynblathmont,and of Balmulistoun in the sheriff-dom of Forfar.
