Deacon Samuel Bliss

Please note: I have checked both the Warren (formerly Western) and Brimfield Vital Records 'brown book' as well as The Genealogy of the Bliss family in America, from about the year 1550 to 1880 by John Homer Bliss and there is no noted marriage record for Deacon Samuel Bliss and Mary Loomis. I have some digital copies of Springfield, Massachusetts records and have not found a marriage or intention of marriage recorded, nor have a I found a record of their union in Connecticut vital records.

Transcribed from the Bliss family: Sixth Generation, pg 51, 116. Dea. SAMUEL, of Brimfield, and Warren, Mass., (son of Thomas Bliss and Hannah Cadwell, of Springfield, Mass.,) was born March 5, 1701, and married to Mary Loomis, who died Aug. 14, 1760, in her seventy-fifth year. He died Feb, 21, 1771.
