Deseret News 10-31-1990 Delamar Rigolot Fairbanks, 96, died October 28, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born January 14, 1894 in Payson, Utah, son of John B. Fairbanks (the pioneer artist) and Lilly Annetta Huish. Married Elaine Beck, April 2, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member of the LDS Church, having served as High Priest in the Forestdale Ward.Served honorably in the Navy during World War I, graduate of the U of U, with a BS and MFA degree. He had been involved in athletic functions and scouting. He was a coach and school teacher for many years with the Salt Lake School District. He was intermountain swimming and diving champion, held this title for over 25 years. Survivors: daughter, Hope F. Nessen, son-in-law, Reed Price Nessen; grandchildren and spouses, Steven Fairbanks and Naomi S. Nessen, Angela Faith Nessen and Scott A. Smith, LaMar Reed Nessen, Pamela Charity Nessen; brothers and sisters and spouses, John B. and June H. Fairbanks, Farrell D. and Marilyn Fairbanks, O. Kendall and Toni Fairbanks, Florence Fairbanks and James Cope, Nellie Delease. Preceded in death by his wife, also several brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 1, 1990 at 12 noon, Forestdale Ward, 739 East Ashton Avenue (2335 So.), where family and friends may call two hours prior to services. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates under the direction of Memorial Estates. T 10/31 T 11/1
