About Della Corbridge Orrock
Della passed on January 15th after spending nearly ninety years loving and being loved. Della was born in Layton, Utah on April 21th, 1918 to Isabell and Delbert Munson Ellison. Her family moved their dairy farm to Ogden where Della was Student Body President at Burch Creek Elementary. She met her beloved Richard Marvin Orrock in the Weber High School band room. They were voted Miss Weber and Happy Warrior in 1937 and were "Sweethearts" of the 14th Ward. They were married on August 13th, 1941 in the Logan Temple. After returning from service in England during WWII, Richard and Della built their home on Madison Ave. in Ogden. In 1959, they moved to Chateauroux, France with their four children: Lynda, Janet, Annette and Marvin, where Della served as Primary President and forged lasting friendships. In 1963, the family returned to Ogden. There, Della continued her loving work in Relief Society, Stake Relief Society, 4-H, Daughters of the Utah Poineers, temple work, Sunday School, and through a mission to Tahiti she served with Richard. Della was constantly noted for her care and patience, traits that manifested themselves through her beautiful home and her relationships within the community.
Della is survived by her life-long friend and twin, Don Ellison, her four children, Lynda (Robert) Hoggan, Janet (Fred) Schow, Annette Orrock and Marvin William (Kathy) Orrock, thirteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
We are greatful for her presence, her wonderful example, and her easy joy. In addition, the family would like to thank all those who provided care for Della over the years. She will be remembered with inexpressibl gratitude.
Interment in Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
