Dellrae MacDonald

Mrs. MacDonald was born on May 18, 1913 in New Westminster, B.C. Canada to Charles and Mary Parsons, the youngest of 11 children, and died in Stockton, CA on July 11, 2008.

Her husband of 38 years, James A. MacDonald, a former Stockton police lieutenant, preceded her in death in 1998. She was the owner/operator of Dellrae's Beauty Salon in Stockton for 31 years prior to her retirement.

Dell was a "people person" and enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends and family in her home. She and Jim were active and generous supporters of the Shriners Hospital for Children and other charities. She was a member of Rainbow Rebekah Lodge #97, IOOF for 74 years. Dell accumulated over 14,000 hours of service as a volunteer of the Dameron Hospital Auxiliary and received the Connie Connolly award in 1992.

She is survived by her long time friends Toshi Kanemoto and Judy Connole of Stockton and many nieces and nephews including Marge Brockman of Fresno; Judy Thornhill and John Johnston of Stockton; Julie Reeder of Valley Springs; Barbara Sanders of Azusa; Dellrae Butler and Joan Butler of Canada, and Kathy Schulz, Gar Wright and Rick Wright of Lodi.

Visitation will be held Thursday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM & Friday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Cherokee Memorial Park & Funeral Home at 831 Industrial Way and Beckman Rd.

Services will be held in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95817-2215 or the charity of choice.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
