About Diane Alexander

CRAIG, Diane Marie age 58, of Marion, Ohio died at her home on Saturday, April 11, at 12:35pm. Diane was born on June 24, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio. She is survived by her loving husband Ralph Craig who she married on June 30th, 1973. Diane is also survived by sons; Lt. Andrew D. (Karla) Craig of Fallon, Nevada and Russell A. (Jennifer) Craig of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and granddaughter Kaylee Jo and one grandson (Jonathan) to arrive approximately May 7th. Her mother Barbara Alexander of Centerville, Ohio; as well as her mother and father in law, Joan and Morris Craig of Marion, Ohio. Her dear sister Paula (Ron), Ferriell of West Carrollton, Ohio three brothers, Mark (Maria), Alexander of Richmond Heights, Ohio, David (Traci) Alexander of Lakeside Park, Kentucky and Bruce (Sherri), Alexander of Bellbrook, Ohio, Brother-in-law David (Rosie) Craig of Morral, Ohio along with thirteen nieces and nephews and one great niece. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence E. "Bud" Alexander Jr. Diane was a teacher and coached various sports at Ridgedale High School for over 32 years. She was a graduate of Archbishop Alter High School in 1968. She then went on to Ohio University graduating in 1972 with her bachelor degree in education. She began teaching in Centerville, Ohio, Detroit, Michigan and served as a lab technician at N.W. Medical Labs. Diane then moved to Marion to begin her teaching career at Ridgedale in 1975 thru 2007. She was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marion, where she served on the parish council. She was a member of the National and Ohio Education Association representing Ridgedale. Diane loved her family and enjoyed being with her "kids" whether it would be coaching, teaching, watching, or just spending time with them. She gave 110% with everything she did leaving the world a better place for it. She fought the good fight, she finished the course, and she kept the faith. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 15 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. A Celebration of her life Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am Thursday, April 16 at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery in Brush Ridge-Marion, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Craig Scholarship Fund through the Marion Foundation and may be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home 476 South Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
