From Ancestry.com: "Didymus served in the Mexican War; he also served in the Civil War as a Private, Company D, 65th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, which so disabled him that he was left a cripple the remainder of his life. He died of blood poisoning at the age of 72 years. His body was interred in a military cemetery and a veteran's star marks his grave." NOTE: his grave is not in a military cemetery, it is at the Mound in Morrow County, OH
