Dietrich Hofmann was born circa 1615. His parents were Tillmann Hofmann and Anna Hofmann ({unknown}).

Dietrich married NN Hofmann ({unknown}). Together they had a son: Tilmann Hofmann.

He died on February 8, 1660 in Eisern, Nassau-Siegen, Germany and was buried on February 8, 1660 there.

"Dietrich Hofmann of Eisern was born about 1615, died at Eisern in 1660 and was buried Feb. 8, 1660. He was a member of the militia at Eisern in 1636 and 1637, and on May 10, 1647 was admitted as a smelterer to the Guild of Smelterers and Hammersmiths, showing that he owned at least six "Days" or shares in some ironworks, probably the Eisern ironworks. In addition to his son, Tillmann, mentioned below, Dietrich Hofmann had at least one daughter, Elsbeth, who after his death married in 1674 Helmann Niess of the Hengsbach...."
