Doctor Robert Baikie of Tankerness is the son of Robert Baikie of Tankerness and his wife Mary Balfour. Burke's Landed Gentry, p. 63 He was born on 30 October 1799 and his baptism was registered on 16 November 1799, at Kirkwall in Orkney, Scotland.
