LEWISTON - Donetta M. (Donna) Giasson, 76, of 282 Lisbon St. Chestnut Place died Sunday with her family by her side at Montello Manor where she had been a resident for the past three months. Born in St. Agatha, April 3, 1922 daughter of Ernest and Annie Thibodeau Cyr she graduated from Madawaska High School in the Class of 1940. She was married to Romeo R. Giasson who died March 25, 1982. She was a waitress at Nanking Restaurant for several years and other local restaurants. Mrs. Giasson attended St. Philip's Church and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing cards, beano and cooking. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Les Dames de Montagnard, Lewiston Snow Shoe Assoc.; Cavalier Club, Horizon 55. She was a very devoted mother and generous loving friend. She is survived by three daughters, Joan and her husband Guy Mahon of Auburn, Carol White of Turner, Nancy and her husband Larry Rioux of Lewiston; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Giasson of Auburn; two sons, Ronald and his wife Joanne of New Gloucester, Ronald and his wife Aldesta Faucher of Windham; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Fernande Dufour of Portland, Mrs. John (Ernestine) Calcagno of Mass., Delores Cyr of Madawaska, Mrs. Theo (Luella) Laprise of Conn.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, James; her son-in-law, Larry White who died in January; two brothers, Bertrand Cyr, Oneil Martin; two sisters, Sister Rachel Cyr, B. Lucienne Chasse.

A son, James Giasson, died Jan. 18. Visiting hours will be held 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today at Fortin Group Funeral Home, Auburn.
