About Doris Posner

Doris Posner, 93, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Monday, May 10, 2010, at Menorah Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests contributions to Beth Shalom Synagogue, 14200 Lamar, Overland Park, KS 66223.

Mrs. Posner was born in Minneapolis, MN, June 29, 1916. She came to Kansas City with her family's company, Ring Construction, which built Municipal Auditorium and the Post Office. That is when she met her husband of 73 years, Joe. Many years later she and Joe owned and operated Joe Myles Men's Wear, from 1961 to 1975.

Mrs. Posner was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom and a former member of its Sisterhood. She was also a member of the Marcella Rodin Club, Hadassah and B'nai B'rith Women, and volunteered for many years at the Jewish Geriatric Center on Shabbat.

Mrs. Posner was preceded in death by her husband Joe, parents: Morris and Fannie Porin; brother: Meyer Porin.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Carol and Marvin Goldstein, Overland Park, KS; son and daughter-in-law: Myles and Deronda Posner, Sullivan, MO; grandchildren: Scott Goldstein (Debbie), Dr. Craig Goldstein (Dr. Poonam Khanna), Aaron Posner (Michelle), Lauren Kalow (Robert), Michael Brueseke (Megan); great- grandchildren: Milin, Elina and Caten Goldstein; Austin Kalow; Boden and Claire Brueseke.

Mrs. Posner always tried to look out for others and help out where she could. She will be missed by her family and friends.
