Dorothy Anderson

Mrs. Dorothy Kennedy Anderson 90, died Saturday at River Landing at Sandy Ridge. She was born August 19, 1920 in Thomasville, NC a daughter of the late Fred N. Kennedy and Vivian Black Kennedy. Mrs. Anderson was educated at Louisburg College and was the former secretary-treasurer of Rex Oil Company in Thomasville. She also had served on the board of directors of First Union Bank of Thomasville and was a member of the NC Women's Pharmaceutical Auxiliary. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the First Baptist Church of High Point and the Radiant Sunday School Class. On August 6, 1949 she married Ernest R. Anderson who preceded her in death on June 11, 2009. She was also preceded in death by a sister Hilda Kennedy Vaughn and a brother Lt. Harold Ray Kennedy, USN, in World War II.

She is survived by a brother F. Stuart Kennedy of Thomasville and several nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
