She is mentioned in the will of Elisha Rose of Granville dated dated 3 Feb. 1808 as "daughter Dorothy Dewey" and in the will of her half brother Arron Rose of Granville dated 12 Apr. 1821 it states: "to the children of Isaac Dewey, viz Isaac Dewey Jr., Dorothy Dewey, Abigail Dewey and Julia Dewey the sum of $20 to be divided between them"
